React Native, Flutter or native? Choosing your mobile stack in 2026
How we decide between cross-platform and fully native for every app we build — with real costs, timelines and trade-offs.

Choosing a mobile stack is a business decision as much as a technical one. Here is the framework we use with every client.
When cross-platform wins
React Native and Flutter let one team ship iOS and Android from a single codebase — typically 40–50% cheaper than two native teams.
- Content, commerce, booking and SaaS companion apps
- Teams that already use React or TypeScript on the web
- MVPs that need to reach both stores fast
When to go fully native
Choose Swift and Kotlin when the app lives on deep platform features: heavy camera or AR work, complex background processing, widgets and watch apps, or the absolute best performance.
What matters more than the framework
- A fast, secure API with offline-friendly sync
- Thoughtful onboarding and push notification strategy
- Crash monitoring and analytics from day one
- A release process that gets updates through store review quickly
The best stack is the one that gets a great experience into users’ hands soonest — and stays maintainable for years.
